Beautification Achievement Awards
Presented by the Colonie Chamber of Commerce

Objective
Named after former CapCom Federal Credit Union President Paula Stopera the awards are an effort to award local businesses that enhance the quality of life in the Town of Colonie and to encourage contributions to the community’s physical environment.

Criteria
Nominees must be commercial, business or public entities (i.e. schools, businesses, municipalities) within the Town of Colonie, including Latham, Loudonville, Newtonville, the Village of Colonie and the Village of Menands.

Award Categories
(1) New Construction – Project completed within the past 12 months that best contributes to the community

(2) Interior Redevelopment – Interior project completed within the past 12 months that enables an existing property to contribute to the community in a new way

(3) Exterior Redevelopment – Exterior project completed within the past 12 months that enables an existing property to contribute to the community in a new way

(4) Curb Appeal – Project completed within the past 12 months that refreshed and rejuvenated an existing property through an outdoor aesthetic appeal

Evaluation
Judgment will be based on the attractiveness of the building’s façade, suitability to site, plantings, signage, cleanliness and maintenance, in addition to other elements, such as lighting.

Award Presentation
Awards are presented to winning businesses at the Colonie Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner, held on January 30th 2025.
