Pioneer Celebrates ‘All Together Forward Days,’ Unveils Inaugural Community Impact Report
Pioneer Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: PBFS) (“Pioneer”), a leading financial institution in New York’s Capital Region, today released its first-ever Community Impact Report, which highlights the wide reach and significant impact of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation since its inception in 2018. The unveiling came amid the third annual celebration of “All Together Forward Days,” an intensive community service effort spearheaded by Pioneer employees on May 21 and 22.
According to the report, the Pioneer Charitable Foundation surpassed more than $1.6 million in giving over its first five years. Funding was provided to more than 400 local nonprofits, all of which supply housing, nutrition, or health care, and/or educational, social and recreational programs, to support the Foundation’s mission of “Helping Kids be Kids.” Importantly, Pioneer underwrites all operational costs, so 100% of money raised helps local children, families and organizations in need.
In addition, the report identifies more than 16,000 employee volunteer hours contributed since 2018; tens of thousands of items collected during quarterly giving drives conducted in Pioneer’s branch locations, from school supplies to winter clothing and more; and a vibrant array of community-focused activities, from Signature Events like Pioneer’s Grand Carnival and Mini-Golf Tournament, to numerous community service projects involving painting and landscaping, supporting community walks and runs, and providing financial literacy programs.
“As a member of the Capital Region community for 135 years, Pioneer embraces its responsibility to enhance the quality of life for all who live and work in our region,” said Tom Amell, President and CEO of Pioneer. “Through the inspiring work of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation, we are proud to provide vulnerable local children with opportunities to reach their full potential. The foundation’s work over its first five years has not only set the bar high, but it has also reinforced our commitment to generating community impact that ensures our region moves ‘All Together Forward.’”
The unveiling of the Community Impact Report came as nearly 100 Pioneer employees participated in “All Together Forward Days,” an annual employee-driven initiative encompassing a wide range of community service activities. Among the projects being undertaken are:
May 21·
· Crossroads Center for Children, Rotterdam – Painting and landscaping
· Unity House, Troy – Working in the thrift store, planting flowers, outdoor cleanup
· Rensselaer Plateau Alliance, Rensselaer County – Trail cleanup
May 22
· Ronald McDonald House, Albany – Yard work, clean up, painting
· Northern Rivers, Albany – Yard work, clean up, painting
· St. Catherine’s Center for Children, Albany – Meal prep, cooking, serving

In all, nearly 700 employee volunteer hours will be contributed during the intensive two-day effort.
“‘All Together Forward Days’ represent the heart and soul of Pioneer’s commitment to serving and enriching the community we’re proud to call home,” said Susan Hollister, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and Co-Chair of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation. “This comprehensive effort to support nonprofit agencies that assist local children in need is a cornerstone of the Pioneer Charitable Foundation’s mission of ‘Helping Kids be Kids.’”
